Senc BQ20z80 and Golden Pack

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ20Z80

Good afternoon,

I search to perform a "Golden Pack" with a BQ20z80_V110. I follow the procedure in SLUA3255B.

My problem concerns the phase 10 for "2 - Creating Pre-Learned Defaults" : "Reprogram the pack with a fresh .srec or .senc to clear all hidden constants".

Where can I find the file SENC for to integrate with tab PRO ? (I use BQ Evalation Sofware)

Another point :

Once I reprogram the Data Flash with the modified file (UpdateStatus=2 and Cycle count=0) the Max error registe returns to 148%.
How do I get a golden pack with Max Error = 1% (like the cycle learning) and UpdateStatus=2 and Cycle count=0.

The program BQ Evalation Sofware also generates a Golden Pack file with UpdateStatus=2 and Cycle count=0 but with a Max Error to 144% It's normal ??

Thank you in advance for the help.

  • Charles,

I attached the .senc file to this message. You will need to load it, the ChemID and the gg file that has Update Status = 02 and CycleCount = 0. The MaxErr problem occurred because there is a mismatch between the CycleCount in your gg file and an internal cycle count in the flash memory. This will get corrected after you load the files that I mentioned.

  • Thank you four our answer,

However, I still have a problem...

First, when I tried to set the file .senc, EVSW said "Device not in ROM."

After some research on your forum, I learned that he had send the command 0F00 at 00 to go to the ROM. (here)
    Programming file .senc is finished.

BUT, after programming the BQ20z80 can not be ordered. The error message appears: "vb_t2h_unknown." In addition, the dataflash and register can not be read.

After restarting the software, it does not auto-detect.

I tried to send orders unsealing but nothing.

How do I find my battery??

    Thanks you in advance.

You have to send and SMB Command 08 to return the device to normal mode. Please refer to the Application Book available for download from the TI website. (search for SLUA404) Look on page 299.
