LM3407: About maximum value of RISNS

Part Number: LM3407

Hi Team,

Our customer would like to use LM3407 at the following conditions so they have to use RISNS =around 2.475ohm.

Can I use this RISNS?

If no, could you please let us know the maximum value of RISNS?

[Conditions]

-VIN=10V to 20V

-VOUT= around 6V

-ILED=around 80mA (1 LED)

Hello Kanemaru,

There is no maximum RISNS value so that should be fine. The only restriction is that you keep it operating in CCM so your peak-to-peak inductor current ripple needs to be less than 160mA for an 80mA output. You just may need to increase the switching frequency and/or the inductor value to make sure you stay in CCM.
