BQ24192: shorting TS1 and TS2

Part Number: BQ24192

Hello team,

customer is using BQ24192  in his schematic and wants to use single thermistor ,

can he short ts1 and ts2 and connect it to the center point between the resistance and thermistor ?
is this a valid condition .

Customer also mentioned a case when the charging the battery is happening perfectly fine however the charge indicator pin does not blink .

The solution to this issue comes out by shorting TS1 and Ts2 and connecting it to a valid resistor divider  , is this expected ?

  • Hey Shreenidhi,

If the customer is using a single thermistor for battery temperature sensing, TS1 and TS2 should be shorted together and tied to a valid resistor network + thermistor, as shown in the application diagram of the datasheet.

If the STAT pin blinks, that means there is a fault, and it is likely related to the TS pin in your customer's case.
