TMS320C6713B: Minimum Turn-Around Time Write-to-Write

SPRU266 Table 3-12 Bits 15-14 specify "Minimum Turn-Around time. Turn-around time controls the minimum number of ECLKOUT cycles between a read followed by a write (same or different CE spaces), or between reads from different CE spaces. Applies only to asynchronous memory types."

What about between writes to the same CE space? Is that turn-around time configurable? I do not see it elsewhere in SPRU266.

    There's no turnaround time necessary between writes to the same CE space.

    I appreciate the feedback regarding the constraints on the EMIF controller. However, there may be applications where the connected device requires a certain turnaround time. Would like to know if it's configurable. Thank you.

    Hi Glenn, so maybe i'm misinterpreting what you are asking for.  Writes to the same chip select should not require any "turnaround" time.  In general, turnaround time would be any delay necessary to wait for another device to stop driving the bus.  In this case the write would always be driven by the processor. 

    Maybe you are looking to add delays in between each write?  Can you describe more of what the device requires when writing to it?

    James, I understand that you're just trying to help but my team fully understands our issue. I know that tone doesn't come across well on internet forums so know that I'm saying this with nothing but respect. I am just looking for confirmation that the turnaround time between writes to the same CE space is not configurable, which I'm inferring from your previous statements.

    Glenn, apologize if it came across wrong.  Just trying to understand your problem and what you are trying to achieve.  A lot of times context of the situation doesn't come across on these forums, so we have to sometimes ask further questions.

    So to answer your question, no, there is no configuration possible for turnaround time of writes to the same CE space.
