Hello,

Do anybody know what the maximum frequency for the 4 following PCIe clocks in an AM65 processor are?

PCIE0_FICLK

PCIE1_FICLK

PCIE0_CPTS_RCLK

PCIE1_CPTS_RCLK

  • Hello,

Could I ask the purpose of the question? Want to ensure that the response aligns with the intent.

  • Hello,

We have some problems with the PCIe interface connection between an AM6548 and an Intel FPGA (5CGTFD7C5F23I7) while running VxWorks from WindRiver. I am trying to debug the problem from the HW side and our SW engineers are trying to debug the problem together with WindRiver. The clock setup was one issue that popped into mind and I can't find any information on maximum clock frequencies for the following clocks:

    PCIE0_FICLK

    PCIE1_FICLK

    PCIE0_CPTS_RCLK

    PCIE1_CPTS_RCLK

We are running 250 MHz on both clocks mentioned. The problem is that on some boards (not all) the PCIe interface stops working. The issue also seems related to temperature. It gets worse with higher temperature. We have done a lot of measurements on the PCie bus, but can't see any reason why it should fail. We have also done a lot of tests with different bus termination on the FPGA side without any result so far. Now we are concentrating on looking into register settings in the Sitara. There are a lot of registers to look into and not all of them are described very well in the user manual.

We also have test programs based on PDK_JACINTO_07_00_00. These programs works without any problems. So we suspect that there is some differences in how VxWorks do setup registers compared to the PDK from TI. This could apply to both clocks, SERDES, and PCIe registers. We are currently working on comparing those registers.
