Hello. I am trying to perform NOR Boot on TMS320C6747.

I can boot using Legacy NOR Boot, but not with Direct NOR Boot.
If someone has experience with booting using Direct NOR Boot, I would like to ask them some questions in detail.
Do you have any experience with booting using Direct NOR Boot?

Hello everyone.

I am trying to "NOR BOOT" the FW of my "TMS320C6740".

If the FW is within 16KB in size, I can boot it in "Legacy NOR Boot" mode.

However, the FW that I really want to use is over 16KB, so I am trying "Direct NOR Boot" mode, but it does not work.

I would like to know how to debug the "NOR Boot" process part of the bootloader using "Code Composer Studio" and "TMDSEMU200-U".

I imagine that the "NOR Boot" process is not executed when the emulator is running. Therefore, is there any way to execute the "NOR Boot" process after the emulator is started?

Specifically, I would like to debug whether the boot loader is accessing the "NOR Boot Configuration Word Field" correctly and then what is the reason why the boot fails.

If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know.

We have checked the documents you provided, but have not been able to resolve the issue.

I would like to report the situation. I have been able to do Legacy NOR Boot by writing less than 16KB of FW to NOR Flash. However, when I change the NOR Boot Configuration Word Field to Direct NOR Boot from here, it cannot boot.

Is there a difference in the format of ROM to be burned into NOR Flash between Legacy and Direct?

Masaru, can you provide more details on the hardware being used and also reference me to the TRM section or any other information for me to understand the boot mode you are configuring.

Is this a new design or an existing design where you are changing the boot configuration? Do you have similar configuration working in any other EVM or project?
