TI’s Android Gingerbread 2.3 DevKit version 2.1 (GA)
release is available for AM35x and AM37x devices. The release has been validated
on AM35x/37x EVMs and Beagleboard rev Cx and XM.
The DevKit release can be downloaded from www.ti.com/sitara-android.
What's included in this release?
The release package includes lots of documentation like developers guide, user guide, porting guide, performance reports, etc. There are pre-built images for out of the box demo and evaluation purposes, the release has sources for complete Android distribution, Linux kernel, boot loaders, WL1271 drivers for WLAN/Bluetooth, SGX drivers for 3D graphics hardware acceleration.

The release is based on Linux Kernel 2.6.37 (latest PSP release is taken as baseline + Android kernel patches), SGX 3D graphics acceleration based on DDK 1.7, Android Gingerbread 2.3.4. The sources are compiled with Android provided GCC tool chain GCC 4.4.3.
This release is tested on AM35x EVM, AM37x EVM, Beagleboard XM and RevCx platforms.
The release includes drivers and Android HAL implementation and updates for NAND (UBIFS), USB, LCD, DVI, Svideo, Keypad, Touch, Camera (AM37x/BeagleXM), MMC/SD, UART, Ethernet, Audio out/in, WLAN, Bluetooth (HFP, HSP, AVRCP, A2DP, OPP).
The release package includes tools like, Android’s Fastboot, TI’s Code composer studio CCSv5 (ADT plugins), DDMS, ADB and TI’s RowboPERF (performance and benchmarking application)

Android distribution are supported by default like, Browser, Calculator, Camera, Clock, Contacts, Custom
Locale, Music, Search, Spare parts (developer apps), Dev Tools, Downloads,
Gallery, IMEs for Japanese, Chinese, and Latin text inputs, Speech recorder, etc.
