AM6548: OpenCL Support (via third-party acceptable)

TI Friends and Family,

Knowing that OpenCL typically requires the GPU support (therefore, no support today for families such as AM62x) does anyone know of an OpenCL Layer or SW offering (third party support is fine) for AM6548? This is not a trivial find on TI.com or via Google search. Appreciate any input from the Linux/Yocto community members also.

Hi Chris,

On AM62x, we have enabled OpenCL and the libraries are hosted here: https://git.ti.com/cgit/graphics/ti-img-rogue-umlibs/tree/targetfs/am62_linux/wayland/release/usr/lib?h=linuxws/dunfell/k5.10/1.15.6133109_unified_fw_pagesize. However, please keep in mind that the libraries have not gone through full conformance testing and we are not officially claiming full support.

Hi Chris,

We are no longer supporting the GPU on the AM65x device. The SW dev team is only migrating the driver to the next LTS version but no active development or support is scheduled for the GPU on AM65x. If the customer wants additional features, we can release the SW code to them but have to go through the internal NDA process.

Hi Chris,

I would need to check internally for a third party suggestion. In parallel, I would also recommend if the customer reach out to Imagination technologies for any 3P recommendations from them. Also, if the customer has a third party they would like to work with, we can internally discuss on the process for sharing the source code.

We just found out that OpenCL support is not necessarily a show stopper. Third party support is not intended/preferred.

SO we are sticking with AM65x, AM62x and possibly even AM68 for now.
