I followed your suggestions, and ran the rpmsg_char_simple binary from /usr/bin. I see below error -

Even the examples in MCU+SDK work on the remote cores. The IPC RP Message Linux Echo has a system_freertos version, but it doesn't seem to work. It crashes.

I had to load the rpsmg_char module to fix the above issue. However, when I am trying to run rpmsg_char_simple application, it is getting into a segmentation fault.

Thanks for the inputs Nick. Yes, I was working on the mentioned commit on AM64X SDK 8.6.

I will checkout to the commit as you have suggested above.

Good morning! I was able to make it work with R5F0_1 and R5F0_0 cores.

However, one question on this, sometimes on R5F0_0, I see below error "could not find matching rpmsg_ctrl device for virtio.rpmsg_chrdev.-1.14".

What does this indicate?

Glad to hear things are moving in the right direction!

The remote core firmware defines which endpoint it will have, and then broadcasts that endpoint to Linux when remoteproc initializes the remote core.
