Hello everyone,

I used ccs2.2 to build one project once before, and the .out file worked successfully on my chip with no error;

However, when I try to use ccs7.4 to rebuild the same project (nothing changed), the .out file couldn't work.

I've tried both Debug and Release mode of ccs7.4 to solve my issue, but I still cann't get rid of it.

Why this happened? Is there any special configuration I didn't set correctly?

Hi Meng,

First of all, can you using CCS to load the *.out file and stop at main()?

If you cannot stop at main, then the problem is in the C initialization stage (_c_int00).

If you can stop at main(), then you can try to single step through your code and try to locate the function calls which cause the problem.

Since the CGT tools have changed, so most likely causes will be the stack size, initial values for variables and data alignment etc.

Hi Meng,

Connect to the target (C5510A board), then Tools --> Debug Options --> Auto Run and Launch Options to get the following screen:

Uncheck the "On a program load or restart", then you load your *.out file. The program will stop at the very beginning of the program (_c_int00) instead of the main(), but the _c_int00 is the assembly code only. It is hard to read, but it at least gives the chance to debug the code instruction by instruction. You can figure it out where the code went astray. Once you finished the debugging, you can check the "On a program load or restart" back to on.
