Hi Team,

I'm using AM62Px Sitara Processor, on which developing UART driver. In the TRM, the register offset is same for the registers. I'm trying to access these registers through Pointer Based Mapping through Structure. But why the Offset are same for the register and how does that work? Please help with this.

Hello Sahana,

All UART registers are 32bit registers, and for every register offset value, it should be incremented by 4, and the first register offset should start with 0x00.

I think this is a bug in TRM. I can confirm and let you know.

Hi Swargam Anil,

I have checked the TRM of AM62Px, AM62A, AR64x. All are having the same offset pattern. Please Confirm ASAP.

Thank you for the query.

Please note that the above register table is due to the compatibility option provided for the UART interface.

The UART is functionally compatible with the TL16C750 UART and earlier designs such as the TL16C550.

One of the register data (at address 0281 0004h) can be read at a given time,

Please read 12.2.4.5 UART Programming Guide in the TRM.

Please note that the AM62P has been APLd and we have the latest collaterals on TI.com.
