AM6548: How to Connect RTS and CTS Signals

Hi,

I have an AM6548 chip that has its UART signals going into a buffer. I would like to convert these signals to USB using an MCP2200 (USB2.0 to UART converter). Should the RTS and CTS be handshaking, or should RTS connect to RTS and should CTS connect to CTS?
