AM625: SDK 9.1 code composer cannot auto import cross compile toolchain

When I try import the cross compiler toolchain in codecomposer for the am625 from the 9.1 SDK, codecomposer fails to recognize anything, I suspect because of a name change.

This behavior worked with the 8.6 SDK. The <sdk>/linux-devkit/sysroots/x86_64-arago-linux/usr/bin path has been added, and the GNU v9.2.1 tool has been found:

On the 9.1 SDK however, nothing is found. The <sdk>/linux-devkit/sysroots/x86_64-arago-linux/usr/bin path has been added, and no tool has been found. (<sdk>/linux-devkit/sysroots/x86_64-arago-linux/usr/bin/aarch64-oe-linux path was tested as well along with the 9.2 SDK, to no avail):

Interesting. I do not use CCS as a Linux development environment, but when building from the terminal we do use that path:

I have used the gcc-arm-9.2-2019.19 compiler for userspace applications on SDK 9.1. You can always download it separately as needed, as discussed here:

Hi Nick, Is it possible to get someone from the code composer team to chime in on this? I'm assuming this is a feature that is supposed to work but got overlooked.

I will send your thread over to the CCS team just in case, but they might not be able to provide any additional comments. Have you tried manually downloading the gcc-arm-9.2-2019.19 compiler and linking to it, as discussed above?

We are trying to write an example for linux development using CCS, which was possible using SDK 08.06 and no longer works with SDK 09.x.

Grabbing the gcc-arm-9.2 toolchain would only be useful for building for the M4 and I'd assume that binaries build using the gcc-aarch64-9.2 toolchain would not run on the new filesystems do to libc changes and the like.

Note: I do prefer to use other IDEs so I agree with you there but some of our customers are used to CCS.

That is incorrect. I just built Linux userspace code with the gcc-arm-9.2 toolchain and ran it. Linux PC was Ubuntu 22.04, I can't remember if Linux SDK was 9.1 or 9.2.

It could be the name change. It could also be the version. What version comes with the v9.1 SDK? CCS must have support for the version of the compiler that it is trying to detect.
