I am not clear on your intended use case. Can you please confirm if my understanding on the use case below is correct?

You want to run Linux on A72 and simultaneously run CAN app on MCU1_0 and you want to do it using the SBL boot flow (and not SPL)? 

If so, you can use bootApp to do the same or you can refer to the following FAQ for details: e2e.ti.com/.../faq-tda4vm-mcusw-demo-on-can-along-side-linux-on-a72

Do let us know if our understanding of the use case is not proper.

Yes your understanding is correct. I want to run linux on A72 and CAN app and some other functionalities on MCU1_0 and MCU1_1. Secondly, I want to transfer data between A72 and MCU (for e.g. using ipc). 

Regarding the flashing, sofar I am copying files to sdcard first and then restart TDA4VM. This I have todo it everytime when I change something in the code and flash MCU. Is there any other way in which I don't have to takeout the sd card from TDA4 and flash it by copying files or by using uniflasher or CCS.

Hello Abdul,

By default all MCAL example including can_app are standalone examples and doesn't work with Linux. As Pinmux will be done in can_app and also in dts files of linux so these examples runs standalone if you want to make changes then you can follow https://e2e.ti.com/f/791/t/1320426

In the FAQ attached i have did changes to use MCAN0 on MCU2_1 core to run along with linux.similarly if you want to use MCU1_0 core and any MCAN instance you need to adapt the procedure done in FAQ and do changes.

In the following architecture there is an interconnect between MCU Island and other cores.

It means that MCU and other cores can run simultaneously and data can be transferred between them.

Can you please answer these questions

- Is there any other way in which I don't have to takeout the sd card from TDA4 and flash it by copying files or by using uniflasher or CCS.

yes you can use OSPI flash , different boot media other than SD Card.

We have ipc echo test examples which shows the communication between A72 and MCU cores.

Hi Tarun,

As I mentioned above, I want to run MCU1_0 and MCU1_1 along with A72 linux. However in the FAQ, a patch is provided for MCU2_1.

No we don't have any example on MCU1_0 /MCU1_1 with CAN working along with linux, you need to modify as per your requirement.
