TMS320C6678: C6678 and SM320C6678-HIREL Compatibility.

Hope you are doing well I’d like to ask the same question because want to make sure that if SM320C6678 and TMS320C6678 pin and functional compatible or not? As you know Aselsan is using C6678 but now they have some temperature problems. They would like to replace it with SM320C6678- HIREL. So want to make sure that there will not be any effort on HW as well as SW side.

    Software will be common/generic base as it uses C66x.

    SM: Fully qualified production device Support tool development evolutionary flow:

    • TMDX: Development-support product that has not yet completed Texas Instruments internal qualification testing.

    TMDS/TMS: Fully qualified development-support product

    Yes the SM320C6678 is a drop in replacement for the 1 GHz device only.
