Tool/software:
Hey there,
I have two questions regarding the power supply and the design of the eval board (AM62A7 / AM62A3 LOW POWER STARTER KIT SK (EVM)
WITH TPS65931211-Q1 PMIC).
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Daniel
Hello Daniel
Is it mandatory to connect VDDSHV5 to a supply voltage or can it be left floating if IO group 5 is not used?
The recommendation is to connect a valid power supply to VDDSHV5.
The schematic of the eval board in pdf file "PROC135A" shows a level translator between AM62A and PMIC (page 33). Why is it used? Datasheet of TPS6593 reads that VIL(DIG) is 0.54 V and VIH(DIG) is 1.26 V for the used IO pin. This should be fine with 1.8 V output of AM62A on "MCU_ERRORn". Do you have further information on this and a recommendation?
Are you checking if the level shifter can be removed?
The SK is a generic design designed parallel to the SOC and PMIC design.
Customer are allowed/encouraged to review and do the required optimization preferably after testing.
