Interfacing ADC12020 and ADV7179 video encoder/decoder to TMS320C6A8168 processor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12020, TVP7002

Can someone provide guidance on how video image processing ICs like the ADC12020 and ADV7179 would be interfaced to the C6A integra series (i.e. p/n TMS320C6A8168)?  I've seen HPI (High Performance Interface) busses on other TI ARM/DSPs, but this serious doesn't seem to have that bus.  Is there a better TI processor one should look at for interfacing to video chips like these in order to do high perfomance video processing?  Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can offer!

  • The ADV7179 is simply an NTSC encoder and can be directly connected to one of the video out ports in 8 bit 656 mode. This is not really necessary though since the 816x has integrated DACs and NTSC/PAL encoders.

The ADC12020is a simply ADC and is not specifically designed for video applications. You should look at the TI TVP7002 for video capture ADCs.
