According to MICRON's document "tn4113_ddr3_point _to_point_design.pdf", When terminating ADDR/CMD/CNTL buses in point-to-point systems, there are a variety
of options:
• Tree with VTT R (Figure 3)
• Tree with series R (Figure 4)
• Tree without series R (Figure 5)
• Fly-by (Figure 6)
Although the tree with VTT R option provides the best signal, it is generally overkill in a
point-to-point system. The tree with series R provides acceptable signal quality without
having to provide VTT power when there is a mismatch between the driver and transmission
line. The tree without series R option generally provides acceptable signal quality
without having to provide VTT power when there is a minimal mismatch between the
driver and transmission line. The fly-by option also has acceptable signal quality, providing
ease of layout at the expense of VTT power and termination; it also induces a
skew between the clock and the data bus.
I'm designing a new board with AM33522 and DDR3 SDRAM without VTT power, will it wok?
