Interfacing ADS5281 EVM and FPGA with OMAP-L138

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5281, FMC-ADC-ADAPTER, OMAP-L138

Hi,

I am working on a data acquisition system with 8 channel, 12 bit high speed A/D converter. All high speed A/D converter with high resolution come with LVDS output so the only way to interface it with UPP is to include FPGA in design. I went through TI page and saw some possibilities to do that. However, before buying the board and necessary things I want to make sure I am on the right track.

I am considering to use ADS5281 EVM in my design. I will be sampling at 20 MHz with 12 bits resolution, so transfer rate will be 240 MSPS per channel. Can FPGA send that much data to OMAP via UPP for further processing ?

If the approach is correct, can I go for this low cost Spartan board

to interface with this ADS5281 EVM

using this FMC-ADC-Adapter to connect EVM and FPGA ?

Is it possible to get sample VHDL code for FPGA to work with ADS5281 EVM ?

I look forward for your suggestion.

Thanks.
