AM5716: IDK PCIe reference clock

Part Number: AM5716
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCM9102,

nHi,

We are designing our own board with an AM5716 device. As a reference we use the AM571x IDK EVM. I can see that on the AM571x IDK EVM a additional device (CDCM9102) is used to produce PCI express reference clock. Can anyone tell me the reason for this. From the AM5716 TRM I can see that the AM5716 should be able to create a PCIe reference clock on the pins AG15 and AH15 (?). Any known problems with the reference clock produced by the AM5716?

Thanks and best regards,
Patrick
