AM3358: Recommended PHY for RMII mode

Is there a recommended RMII PHY for the AM3358? I've read some threads on incompatibility issues. Will the KSZ8081 work (will supply a 50MHz clock on RMII1_REFCLK)?

There is no list of TI recommended PHY's for Sitara devices. You are correct that in RMII mode AM335x requires an external low-jitter 50MHz clock to be provided on RMIIx_REFCLK pins. Another thing to note is that RMII requires very careful PCB layout. It's recommended to perform SI analisys on the layout.

Are there any RMII PHYs that have been confirmed to work and are supported in software / device tree?

TI does not have AM335x EVM boards with RMII interface. You can see the list of supported PHYs in menuconfig of the Linux SDK.
