Linux/TDA2EVM5777: Linux/TDA2EVM5777 - download linux image/boot using CCS ( without using SD card)

Part Number: TDA2EVM5777

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

Want to know if we can download a linux image and boot the EVM5777 using only the CCS( i.e. without using a SD card)?

Checked in the documentation.

have built the vision SDK for sys bios and could download it using CCS via a JTAG

Now want to build the vision SDK for linux. but the linux user guide does not mention about the option of downloading using CCS.

Is this possible, or we have to use a SD card?

Thanks and Regards,

AAA

  • Hello,

You should be able to load the pre-built Linux SDK binaries via CCS and JTAG (without booting from SD card) the same way you did for sys bios.

    thanks,

    Alex

  • Thanks for the quick reply.
is it possible to elaborate a bit.
So, just to confirm my understanding, the binaries for the cores (IPU.., DSP, EVE etc.. ) can be copied as was done in case of Sys Bios...?
Also, will these also be built on linux, when the vision sdk is built?

And what about the binaries for A15?
the linux user manual mentions about the tar file for the targetfs, which needs to be copied to the SD card etc. How to transfer the linux image i.e uImage, zImage, rootfs etc. to the target board?

    Requesting the above info. pls.

    Thanks and Regards,

    AAA
  • Hi,

Booting from CCS with LInux configuration is not supported.
As You can not load uboot and kernel and mount the filesystem using CCS.
