TMS320C6654: SGMII CLOCK INPUTS TO C6654

Hello,

I just want to confirm that the datasheet is wrong on TMS320C6654. Pins AD13 (RSV28) and AE14 (RSV35) are reserved pins but I don't they they are reserved.

SRIOSGMIICLKP is pin AD13

SRIOSGMIICLKN is pin AE14

When I extracted your symbol into Altium, it came correctly and I do see SRIOSGMIICLKP/N but not in the datasheet.

You are correct. There is an error in the C6654 Data Manual. Pin AD13 should be listed as SGMIICLKP and pin AE14 should be listed as SGMIICLKN. These were marked reserved by mistake. The proper pin numbers for this clock and the input clock specifications can be found in the C6657/55 Data Manual until we get this corrected.

so this device has only 4 clock inputs for PCIe, SGMI, CORE, and DDR. I assume MCMCLKP/N are not used and can be left floating as explained in the datasheet.

Divakar,

The MCMCLK input pins should be held static as discussed in Section 6.3.1 of the Data Manual (SPRS841) and also in Section 3.6 of the Hardware Design Guide (SPRABI2D). We have already filed for a document update to include MCMCLK explicitly in Section 6.3.1 of the DM.
