RTOS/AM5728: 4-channel PRU Ethernet switch

Thank you for your reply. I understood that we can use 4 PRU-ICSS Ethernet ports. How about switch ? Is it possible to operate 4 port switch ? If it's possible, do you have a sample code in Processor SDK or other SW package ?

Is it possible to determine the port on which a telegram has been received and send telegrams on a specific port ?

Sorry I mis-understood your question in last response.

The current PRU supports 2 port only switch. It's feasible to have 4 port switch with new firmware, essentially doing a 4 port switch would require a shared common FDB to prevent flooding to all ports. We don't have a sample code in Processor SDK yet.

If user tries to develop SW for 4 port switch using two PRU-ICSS, is it OK to create only Arm code with 2 port switch PRU firmware ? or PRU firmware must be modified ?

The PRU firmware need to be modified. To avoid overloading the Host with FDB operations, the firmware Switch should perform FDB lookups and forward Layer 2 (L2) traffic. There is no FDB in current firmware.
