AM1707: Peripheral questions

Part Number: AM1707
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC10

Hi Team,

I have a customer with some questions about the AM1707:

1. We have CF card in the design, but in AM1707 there is only MMC/SD card support. What should be done to use CF card?

2. For Multichannel Audio Serial Ports multiple formats support is declared. Please describe how to realize the optimal connection of TI TLV320AIC10 codec to the processor.

Regards,

Mihir

  • Mihir,

I don`t think CF cards can interface with AM1707 without an adapter layer in the middle but I am checking with our HW teams to see if they can comment. As far as I know CF interface was only available on C54x parts.

McASP data formats can be controlled through the MCASP register interface but as any serial interface MCASP can be a master or a slave where in the master clock is either internally generated or it acquires the clock from external master. We have AIC31x codec as the slave and MCASP on the SOC as the master on the device and do provide MCASP audio loopback using AIC3106 using TI evlaution platform so you can use that HW design as reference.

the optimal way would be determined by the usecase and who you want to assign as the clock master that determines the sampling rates and frame clock.

    Regards

    Rahul
