TDA4VM: We want to make an ADAS controller, what memory are needed?

Part Number: TDA4VM

We want to make an ADAS controller, what memory are needed?

For example,

In TDA4 SOM, there are both Hyper Flash and OSPI Flash in OSPI0, which one is better? How about without Flash in OSPI0?

In TDA4 CPB, there is a QSPI Flash in OSPI1. Is QSPI Flash needed? How about without QSPI Flash in OSPI1?

eMMC, UFS, which is better?

  • Hi,

The TDA4 offers you several boot options and boot modes as listed in the TRM.

The TDA4 SOM + CPB acts as a development environment which tries to enable a wide variety of boot options to enable development and show device capability.

The short answers to your questions are below:

    > In TDA4 SOM, there are both Hyper Flash and OSPI Flash in OSPI0, which one is better? How about without Flash in OSPI0?

It is hard to say comment what is better, it depends on your end usecase needs and the cost etc. It is not mandatory to connect a flash on OSPI0

    > In TDA4 CPB, there is a QSPI Flash in OSPI1. Is QSPI Flash needed? How about without QSPI Flash in OSPI1?

It is not mandatory to connect flash on OSPI1,

    Regards

    Karthik
