Hello all.

I recently purchased the TMS320DM8127 Camera development kit. I assembled the kit as mentioned in the getting started guide. After proper installation i connected the network and then power on the kit. As described in the documentation it should start a RTSP server and show rtsp links on the serial terminal which when opened on the browser will display video stream from the camera.

However unfortunately the kist keeps on rebooting and does not show any links. I have tried whatever was possible like copied a new SD card as described in the documentation but there was no change. The kit keeps on rebooting. If somebody can provide solution.???

One more thing that i want to share that i ran the diagnostics and my newly bought kit fails audio diagnostic test.

could you give any assistance.

HI Asad,

I had similar issues when i first tried to use the camera kit. I found that the board can take quite a high current as it boots up through the various phases, and this was causing the supply voltage to drop resulting in a brown out condition, thus causing a reset.This would then continue to attempt to boot and then reset continuously.

I found that by connecting the board to a bench PSU(and using low impedance cables) capable of providing a well regulated +5V then i was able to successfully boot up the board and run the camera and examples.

Hello

After a lots of tries i found out that in the default settings it is mandatory to use DHCP. If the DHCP is not enabled in the network then kit is unable to obtain IP address and it keeps rebooting. After using the DHCP the kit worked just fine.

I think this is a good tip for the new users that they should use it with DHCP enabled network.

Hi Asad,

static IP can be used. Steps to configure for static ip are,

1) echo "static" > /opt/ipnc/ip_config

2) systemctl disable systemd-networkd.service

3) Connect USB and it mounts disk on your system, mounted disk has exe using which you can configure static IP to use

4) Reboot, next time you should have static IP

It is available in one of IPNC documents not sure which one.
