AM5728: AM5728 Serdes clock - not needed for USB3.x?

I would like to check that my assumption is correct and Serdes clock is not needed for USB 3.x (superspeed), only for SATA and PCIE. Therefore U7/CDCM9102 could be removed when PCIE nor SATA is not used. Right?

Hi,

Really good question...I've reviewed everything available to me and I do not find an obvious dependency between USB and the SerDes clock.

I've pushed this request upstream to our Design team to be 100% sure. I'll post my findings here.

I was able to verify that USB doesn't require the external SerDes clock input.
