TMDSSK3358: About using other company’s Giga bit PHY

Hello,

Regarding to Giga bit PHY on AM335xEVM starter kit（TMDSSK3358）, my customer is asking a question.

(Question)

Currently Broadcom’s PHY is used for starter kit.

Why isn’t TI’s PHY(DP83867) used for it?

I guess that TI’s giga bit PHY wasn’t released yet at first design of EVM.

So other company’s giga bit PHY was used and is continued to use now.

My understanding is correct?
