AM6548: Boot from SD

I burn the TI offered prebuilt image am65xx-hs-evm-linux-06.01.00.08.img to my new SD card. Then power on, I can't enter bootloader and nothing happened, why ?

  • Hi Victor,

    Do you have HS-evm?

Also to get to boot loader you need to copy the following files to boot partition of your SD card:

    tiboot3.bin, tispl.bin, u-boot.img, sysfw.itb.

Then you should be able to boot to u-boot prompt.

    Regards,
    Keerthy

  • Hi Keerthy,

    Yes, I have HS-evm. I have copied these files to my sd card (tiboot3.bin, tispl.bin, u-boot-.img, sysfw.itb).

I have success experience in none HS-evm.

may I get a bad hardware board ?

    thanks you.

  • Victor,

I suggest you try multiple SD cards, if you have not yet done so. Also, if you want to verify that the AM65x device is alive/running, I would set the board to UART boot mode and connect a terminal. If you see the "CCC..." xmodem download prompt, then you know that the SoC is running. You could even attempt to load the low-level boot image (tiboot3.bin) by doing an xmodem upload from your terminal program. Note that for a secure AM65x device, that image must be properly signed with the correct private evaluation key(s).

  • Hi Daniel,

Yes, I have connected to UART console. It is just showed some value 0x8xxxxxx when I power on. I got the tiboot3.bin from TI web site. I got the new HS version board. How I sign the tiboot3.bin ? And what is the key ? Thank you.
