AM5728: MMC2 interface compatibility with eMMC version 5.1

Hi,

Is it possible to connect a version 5.1 or version 5.0 eMMC device (eg: Micron MTFC32GAPALBH-IT) on MMC2 interface of AM5728? As per information in the TRM this interface is compliant to version 4.5.

If yes, can the version 5.0/5.1 device be used for booting?

    Thariq,

    Yes you can.  Features introduced in v5.0 - v5.1 won't be supported, but you can use the basic functionality introduced in v4.5 and previous revs, including booting.  Please check with the flash vendor how to connect the pins only applicable to v5.1.  For Micron, they had previously released an appnote saying pins associated with HS400 (i.e. Data Strobe, potentially VSS) should be left floating.
