Hi!

I am using Sitara AM3358 processor on custom board and RTOS SDK 5_03_00_07.

I made boot configurations pins as 0100000000100010b.

I am using NAND (MT29F8G08ABACAH4-IT:C TR) size: 1GB on custom board. I was trying to flash the file through NAND_Flash Writer project available

in C:\ti\pdk_am335x_1_0_16\packages\ti\starterware\tools\flash_writer\src\nand-flash-writer_AM335x but it is hanging in between after giving ECC scheme input.

Does this NAND Flash writer code work for custom board also?

If no, what configuration I need to change? Or Is there any other way to flash the file to NAND through CCS?

Earlier I worked on starker kit SKAM355x in which NAND is not available so I am working on NAND & GPMC from scratch on custom board.

Please suggest any solution to this.

Hello,

NAND support is not common as the proliferation of SPI based flashes and eMMC. You will need to make modifications to enable Flashing and Booting from NAND. This is the common board port effort to handle pin mux and other changes that happen with custom boards. Also, you NAND timings may need to be tweaked in order to work well.

It refers to the same code you've found above. It seems to be the best starting point for this. Since this is customization for a board, this is the best support we can offer.

Hi Gaurav,

The NAND flash writer works for TI hardware platforms, but will likely need to be modified for custom boards or flash memories other than those on TI platforms.
