66AK2G12: Single core operation in dual core processor 66AK2G12ABYT100

Part Number: 66AK2G12
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 66AK2H14

Hi

We would like to use the 66ak2g12 processor.

It has Arm +DSP processors however we do not need the ARM to operate at all. Due to software porting and DO 254 licensing issues.

The reason for choosing this processor is because it fits to previous old processor TMS320C6424ZWTQ6 so porting should be easy (please confirm), temperature range of 125c and it fit to audio application.

So I would like to find out the followings:

1)      In the overview here: Microsoft PowerPoint - KeyStone II SoC Overview.pptx (ti.com) it says that the C66x can boot from several boot options. Can the c66 boot:

  1. Without booting the ARM at all ?
  2. From Qspi flash is possible ?

2)      Does the ARM is the master on the bus thus the DSP cannot boot without booting first the ARM ?

3)      Can the ARM be turned off and not be in idle mode during all times ?

4)      Does the DSP c66x have access to all building blocks of the SOC such as EMAC, PCIe without the ARM being involved at all. (at power down)? Please referee me to the document showing this.

Thanks

  Avner
