TDA3MA: TDA3MA UART Boot Mode on pins W6, W7

Question on behalf of a customer:

After changing Debug UART pins (from M2, R6 to W6, W7) we have no longer possibility to flash AppImage to TDA3.

As we know from datasheet TI baseline software assumes that UART3 on balls M2 -UART3_RXD, and R6 - UART3_TXD is used as booting ports.

Is there possibility to use UART ports on pins W6 & W7 for booting and how to implement it from SW side?

Is new pinmux is enough or should we change it in other way (SPL/bootloader or HLOS kernel)?

Hi,

I will check with the team & let you know.

Note: In TDA3xx there is no SPL/bootloader or HLOS kernel because it's is purely bios core only so not possible to run Linux in TDA3x

I am sorry for the late reply.

Do you mean same UART port is also connected to W6 and W7 pins? I am not sure about it. If it is, then yes, it needs to change the pinmux.

If different uart module is connected over these pins, then it requires to change uart instance in the sw.
