TDA2EG-17: VPE scaler performance from two 1080p cameras to can be met?

Hi Champ,

HW: TDA2EG-17

The system has two 1920*1080P30 cameras.

Every camera is doing 1920*1080 -> 720*1080 and 720*640 scaling down.

So there're totally 4 scaling down operations for these two cameras:

1920*1080 -> 720*1080
1920*1080 -> 720*640
1920*1080 -> 720*1080
1920*1080 -> 720*640

Can VPE inside TDA2EG-17 do these four scaling down simultaneously? What is the roughly scaling down time for these streams?

Hi James,

I think this would require around 250MP/s processing, I think this is not possible, due to VPE clock (if i remember correctly).

Can you please check in the data sheet at what speed VPE is running?

The VPE_GCLK and the PROC_CLK is 266MHz.

Hi James,

It looks to be very tight. We need to keep some margin for switching context. 6% margin for context, thread switching is too less..
