AFE7444: ZCU702 and 7444EVM ,when I use SPI to initialize 7444 according AFE7422 and AFE7444 Programmer's Guide,should I set the FMC voltage to 1.8V?

Part Number: AFE7444
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , AFE7422

Hello,TI support,

I connect zcu706 board from XILINX and AFE7444EVM to do project, when I initialize 7444 according to the  AFE7422 and AFE7444 Programmer's Guide 3.1.1Start-Up GPIO Status  and 3.1.2 Start-Up E-Fuse Shift, the Register Address (Hex)==0xC2,the read back Register Value (Hex) shouled be 0xF, my project cannot get this value.

I have two question:

1.when I use SPI to initialize 7444 according AFE7422 and AFE7444 Programmer's Guide,should I set the FMC voltage to 1.8V?

2.Could TI provide firmwire to initialize 7444EVM based on connecting to zcu706?

Thank you,

Wanui Hao

  • Hi Wanui Hao,

    1.when I use SPI to initialize 7444 according AFE7422 and AFE7444 Programmer's Guide,should I set the FMC voltage to 1.8V?

All GPIOs and SPI interface pins of  AFE74444 use 1.8V CMOS logic. So if you are connecting any of these pins via FMC, voltage should be set to 1.8V.

2.Could TI provide firmwire to initialize 7444EVM based on connecting to zcu706?

TI provides JESD204 rapid design IP royalty free for use with TI high-speed data converters. Please request access at below page if you need help with JESD204 design:

  • Hi,Vijay,

Your answer did not answer my confusion. I am  experiencing issues with the initialization and configuration process of AFE7444EVM after connecting ZC706 and AFE7444EVM.

I currently have no confusion about JESD 204B.

    Thank you,

  • Hi,Vijay,

I have submitted an application on the website you provided, but the approval has not yet been approved. I would like to know how the JESD204IP provided by TI differs from that provided by Xilinx? Can I directly use Xilinx's JESD204IP for design?

    Thank you,

  • Hi Wanrui,

The TI IP has been created such that you can easily take our ready made reference designs and modify them for your custom configuration. Additionally it is provided royalty free for use with TI high-speed data converters.

In regards to your application, you should have received an email from me asking for additional information. Once we get the additional information I can grant you access to the TI IP. I will re-send the email today.
