PGA900: Supply current is not enough

Part Number: PGA900
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1232,

Hi
How are you? hope you fine.
I have a bridge sensor of (350 ohm +- 15 %) and it derived a 8.6 mA maximum. I used ADS1232 previously .

Now I have to use PGA900 but (VBRGP, VBRGN) pins give 1.5 mA maximum to the sensor.

Is there any solution for that like buffer stage of anything else?

Regards
Ihab

  • Hello Ihab,

In order to use a bridge sensor with a total impedance of 350 ohm, you will need to use some kind of external buffer stage to supply the required current. Most inexpensive op amps will work as long as you use the stable VBRG supply at the opamp input.

    Regards,
