Hi Team,
We would like to ask your help regarding the customer's inquiry below.
I am trying to follow the steps outlined in the DCA1000 Training video : training.ti.com/dca1000-training-video I have followed all the steps as outlined. However, when I connect the DCA1000 Board to my computer instead of the 4 comports showing up as AR-DevPack-EVM-012 as shown in the training video, I only get USB Serial Port (Picture is attached).
When I open the mmWave Studio 02.01.01.00, the No. of Devices figure is shown as 0 (Picture is attached).
After clicking on the Set(1) button, I get an error “Status: Failed to open/close GpioControl, Error Type: PROTOCOL ERROR” (Log picture is attached).
I have followed all the instructions given but I have been facing these issues for several days. I have also read several forum posts related to my problem and have implemented the suggestions given there such as updating FTDI driver, changing cables, checking SPI switch, on the AWR1443Boost board, changing computer but nothing has resolved these issues.
Regards,
Danilo
Hi,
If the COM ports are not present in the Device Manager, this means that the FTDI drivers are not installed.
Please follow instructions in the DCA1000 evm UG to install the drivers.
Please also review our DCA1000 FAQ

Hi Cesar,
Thank you for your response. According to the customer,
I have tried updating the FTDI driver using the link provided but the 4 comports from the DCA1000EVM still shows up as USB Serial Port (Picture attached). I have uninstalled, reinstalled mmWave sdk, mmWave studio and the ftdi drivers several time on 2 different computers but there is no change. Are there any other suggestions I can use to resolve this? Also, are the switches on the DCA1000EVM placed correctly?
Regards,
Danilo
Hi,
Can you please ask the customer to try to install the following ftdi drivers. Drivers from older SDK or mmWave Studio release will not work
Please also ask the customer to try several USB cable. We have seen issue in the past where the cable was defective
thank you
Cesar
Hi Cesar,
The customer have tried the ftdi driver from the link below and bought several cables but it didn't resolved the issue.

According to the customer,
I bought several new micro usb cables and tried with the DCA1000EVM but the issue still remains. Is obtaining the " AR-DevPack-EVM-012" in the Device Manager instead of the "USB Serial Port" a requirement for the correct functioning of the DCA1000EVM?

Danilo
