Hi,
In our application, we are planning to monitor humidity and temperature level in a mini closed chamber (with some VOCs and other particles). And this chamber will be frequently pumped down to vacuum to remove moisture and then returns back to normal atmospheric pressure within <5sec. So, I was wondering if HDC2022 is compatible with this application.
Thanks!
Dear Anjali -
Thanks for the post - the HDC2022 is able to go through this condition, however, depending on the VOCs and other contaminants, the sensor output may shift - you will have to test for severity of impact.
Thank you for the quick reply, Josh. I was wondering do we need any dynamic pressure offset calibration for the humidity sensor in case we are using a dynamic pressure change environment like in our application?
Got it..Thank you for the clarification.
Also, does the volume of the chamber have an impact on the relative humidity measurement of the sensor? Does the volume give any offset or affect the response time of the sensor?

Within reason, I don't think so - if the device has access to water vapor, it will read correctly. The enclosed volume of water vapor laden air surrounding the part will appear to impact the sensor reading perhaps only until it is stable, meaning, if there is a transient gradient present, it should be observed until environment reaches steady state condition, however long that takes. You can read the part every few mSec if you would like to experiment with it and introducing your various custom conditions.
