LMT87: LMT87DCKT behaves like a LMT84DCKT

Hello,

I recently changed a design from the LMT84DCKT to the LMT87DCKT

However, with the LMT87DCKT I am getting an output of 887mv at 27 Celcius?

It should be 2271mv? at 27 Celcius?

The LMT87DCKT is acting like an LMT84DCKT?

I checked the LMT87DCKT part to make sure the markings are correct for the LMT87DCKT

The marking is "BUA" for the SC70 package?

It is like a LMT84DCKT was miss marked as a LMT87DCKT?

    Can you share your schematic for both devices? Have you simply replaced the LMT84 to the LMT87 on your board?

    Yes, that is what I did, seems the pinout for the LMT87 is not the same as the LTM87.

    So cannot help but ask, are they all the same just depends on the VDD and GND pinout?

  • Hi Blair,

    Yes, that is true. Specifically, for the LMT8x parts pin 4 is the true device VDD and pin 2 is the true device GND. Pins 1 and 2 will determine the devices output gain. 

    That being said, I have to mention that even though the LMT8x part may have functionality beyond what is indicated in the datasheet, we can't specify operation beyond what is stated in the datasheet. Device performance can only be guaranteed by the device functionality specified in said datasheets.

    To answer your original question, the device you have is in fact an LMT84. Depending upon the gain option you would like to use in your system, please choose the proper corresponding LMT8x device.
