TMP1075: The HS mode commands before changing to HS mode

Part Number: TMP1075

Hello,

My customer uses TMP1075 together with other devices on the same I2C bus and the bus speed will be HS mode.  It seems it needs to issue HS mode host code to change the bus to HS mode,  but would you please give me your comments for the followings?

1. Can their system communicate with other devices at 400kHz before changing the bus speed to HS without any issues?  I think it can if the salve address is different from the one of this device.

2. Can their system issue an HS mode host code at 400kHz?  I think they can because the default I2C bus speed is Fast mode.

Best Regards,

  • Hello Kawasaki-san,

    1. Yes, the system can communicate with other devices on the bus at 400kHz as long as the address is different.

    2. Correct, the HS mode host code can be sent at 400kHz to put the device into HS mode.  The TMP1075 will not acknowledge this byte, but is internally switched in to HS mode and the device bus will stay in HS mode until a stop condition is received.
