I just wanted to provide a likely solution to the issues related to the LDC-EVM1101 in the following (2) threads.
I just received my 1101 EVM board ~April 2023, so this may not apply to older boards. Everything described below is for Windows 10.
I first started by installing the recommended OneUI software and updated the firmware. The board connected to this software, but would not display anything on the software tabs.
So I moved on to trying the Labview-based LDC1101EVM GUI. I installed this as administrator. But similar to folks in the two threads above, it would momentarily connect, and then said not connected. I verified that the drivers were installed - with the device appearing as 'EVM' in device manager.
My thought was this could be an issue of firmware, since I am trying to use the older (but working) Labview-based software with a newer EVM (plus I updated the firmware in the OneUI software).
Since I could not connect in the LDC1101EVM GUI, I updated the firmware from the OneUI software, BUT, I selected the older firmware from the LDC1101EVM GUI folder (mine was in C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\LDC1101 EVM GUI\Firmware).
It updated fine from the OneUI software, and then disconnected and windows said the device malfunctioned. I unplugged and replugged it, and it was found as an EVM device, and it connected perfectly in the LDC1101EVM GUI software.
So I think the issue is making sure the firmware is downgraded that provided with the LDC1101EVM GUI software.
Hope this helps someone!
