Thank you for reaching out on E2E. The absolute maximum rating for this device is shown here:
Vcc is rated to 5.5V, and the output voltage is rated to VCC+0.3V. So under no case should the pull-up voltage exceed 5.8V. However, we never recommend using a different voltage for the pull-up than VCC. It is best to connect the pull-up resistor directly to VCC at the device to ensure that the Output voltage rating is never at risk of being violated.
