DRV5032: Vdss of the open drain output

Part Number: DRV5032

Customer would like to know that what max. voltage derating Vdss of the open-drain output? Could you help to answer! Thanks.

  • Brian,

Thank you for reaching out on E2E.  The absolute maximum rating for this device is shown here:

Vcc is rated to 5.5V, and the output voltage is rated to VCC+0.3V.  So under no case should the pull-up voltage exceed 5.8V.  However, we never recommend using a different voltage for the pull-up than VCC.  It is best to connect the pull-up resistor directly to VCC at the device to ensure that the Output voltage rating is never at risk of being violated.

    Thanks,

    Scott
