Hi,

I'm working with AWR1243Boost and AWR1642Boost modules (both of Revision A) with DCA1000 boards.

I'm trying to synchronize them using hardware trigger. I'm feeding the external trigger to SYNC_IN PIN of the boards (J6-PIN10 on AWR1243Boost and J6-PIN9 on AWR1642Boost).

But I'm not getting any frames.

As mentioned in both radars user guides, the SYNC_IN is connected to these PINs in Revision B:

Does this mean that I should bring out the SYNC_IN usning a PMUX command?

I also found the following thread that says the SYNC_IN PIN is fed to the DCA1000 board and should be disconnected from that by removing R120 on DCA1000 to be usable:

How can I remove the SYNC_IN connection to the 60pin HD connector?

I could feed the SYNC_IN signal on J6-PIN9 of AWR1642 by short connecting the R165 on the board as mentioned in this thread:

But for AWR1243 I could not bring out the SYNC_IN signal to the J6-PIN10 yet. (please have in mind that my board is a Rev.A board)

Just to remind: the following post recommends to remove R120 from DCA1000 board to disconnect the SYNC_IN from the FPGA. They claim that this connection attenuates the voltage level:

Should I do the same or the issue might be from the older design of the board schematic?

Hi Ehtesham,

I could solve it by placing a 0 Ohm on R165 on the AWR1243. It's near the J5-PIN10:

So, for both AWR1642 (Revision A) and AWR1243 (Revision A), the R165 should be short connected to access the SYNC_IN on the board jumpers.
