IWR1443BOOST: Even if I send a profile (example: profie_2d.cfg) to IWR1443BOOST, there is no data returned.

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443

Dear Sir

I would like to confirm or ask the following questions regarding your answers.

1. Answers and questions to your question "Do you have your device in functional mode?"

The dip switch of IWR1443BOOST is set to functional mode [SOP0: short circuit, SOP1: open, SOP2: open]. What else do I have to do besides this?

2. Questions regarding the operation of IWR1443BOOST

The mmwave demo visualizer is working properly, so the firmware has been installed correctly on the IWR1443BOOST.

After that, I send a profile (for example, profie_2d.cfg) that describes "sensorStop to sensorStart" from the PC to IWR1443BOOST using another application (CLI teraterm or my own program created with Python, etc.),

but there is no response. What should I do to return data from IWR1443BOOST?

Please let me know regarding the above 2 items.

3.The settings related to the connection COM port are as follows.

①. <Transmission>XDS110 Class Application/User UART Port: COM5, baud rate: 115200, byte size: 8 bits, stop bit: 1, parity: none, timeout = 1, (xonxoff, rtscts, dsrdtr) not set

②. <Reception> XDS110 Class Auxiliary data Port Port: COM4, Baud rate: 921600, Byte size: 8 bits, Stop bit: 1, Parity: None, Timeout = 1, (xonxoff, rtscts, dsrdtr) are not set.

Thanks with Best Regards.

  • Hello,

The dip switch of IWR1443BOOST is set to functional mode [SOP0: short circuit, SOP1: open, SOP2: open].

This is correct for functional mode dip switch settings. You must also ensure that the device is reset after setting the dip switches so that the new SOP mode is latched. This can be accomplished with the reset button on the EVM.

After that, I send a profile (for example, profie_2d.cfg) that describes "sensorStop to sensorStart" from the PC to IWR1443BOOST using another application (CLI teraterm or my own program created with Python, etc.),

Please ensure that the device is reset each time before sending a .cfg file. For example, if you have the demo running with the mmWave Demo Visualizer, you must reset the device (using the NRST button on the EVM) before attempting to send a .cfg file via teraterm or python application.

3.The settings related to the connection COM port are as follows.

The COM port settings you have listed should be correct for the IWR1443 Out-of-Box demo.

When you say that there is no response after sending the .cfg file, do you just mean that there is no data output? As the cfg file is sent do you see the device responding with "Done" after each command, including the sensorStart command? Can you please also let me know the exact location of the demo firmware that you have loaded to the device?

    Best Regards,

    Josh
