Dear Design,

Hope you’re doing well. I am Arabella from NWC mass market team. Now I take over BA sector. my customer RENHEJIA's newly developed smart home will use OPT3004. The sensor contacts the outside world through a light guide, which transmits the outside light to the light sensor. The relationship between the light guide and the sensor is shown in PPt, with 2D drawings attached.

The customer will start the mold soon, could you please help feedback an evaluation result.

The "Field-of-View and Window Size" section of the following document contains information and equations that can be used to design for the light guide:

Additionally, the following video contains more information about using optical components such as lenses, diffusers, and light pipes to improve the field of view:

The FOV estimator tool is also useful for these kinds of systems. A download can be found in the Design and Development section under the Design tools and simulations tab of the following product page:

Unfortunately, I can not provide a proper evaluation without knowing more about the system, such as the refractive index of the light guide. I hope these resources can be useful to you.
