Hi Experts,
We're trying to use an AWR1642Boost Rev. module for research purposes. I can't seem to connect to the out-of-the-box demo in either functional or development mode. I'm able to flash the OOB demo in the mmwave_sdk_03_06_02_00 to the board in flashing mode. Further, when I try to use the Matlab TI toolbox again I'm able to flash but unable to connect in functional mode. Using mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00 in development mode I'm able to connect rs232, flash the eval firmware in the same folder(xwr16xx_masterss.bin for mss and xwr16xx_radarss.bin for bss), and connect over spi. However, when I try to power up RF I get:
[16:21:48] Status: Failed, Error Type: RESP TIMEOUT
[16:21:52] BSS Power Up async event was not received!
Basically, I haven't had luck with the awr1642boost module. Am I doing something wrong?
I looked through the forum last night and couldn't find anything similar, so I tried most of the suggestions that were somewhat related.
Please advise
Regards,
Josel
Hi Cesar,
I don't see any ES markings on U2 or U6. Should I check any of the other ICs?
We also just received one of the new boards, I'll will also see if I can get anything to work on that one. So the board we just ordered is def ES 2.0 and works fine with everything.
Regards,
Josel
Hi
You can tell the difference between the ES1.0 and ES2.0 silicon by looking at the marking on the chip
For ES1.0 silicon you will notice xWR1642.
For ES 2.0 silicon you will notice xWR1642A
Thank you
Cesar
Hi Cesar,
Hi sorry, I've been out of the lab. So the board that isn't working is ES1.0. Does this require a different version of the sdk?
Regards,
Josel
Yes,
Please go to MMWAVE-SDK Software development kit (SDK) | TI.com
Downloads-> View All Versions
Select v 01.02.00.05
Thank you
Cesar
