AWRL6432: Does AWRL6432 support fine phase compensation for RX antenna trace length mismatch?

Part Number: AWRL6432

Tool/software:

Hello team,

I'm writing to ask if AWRL6432 could support phase compensation for RX antenna trace length mismatch? For example, let's assume that RX1, RX2, RX3 is supposed to have 0degree, 10degree, 20degree phase difference. However, due to trace length mismatch, RX1, RX2, RX3 has 0degree, 20degree, 20degree. Then, can AWRL6432 compensate this? I've checked documents but seems AWRL6432 only supports 180degree compensation for BPM. Seems there is no fine control on phase.  Also, as far as I understand, this kind of compensation doesn't work because each object brings different incident angle. Compensation may work for one object but it cannot be compensated for every object at a time. If  you have any comments, please let me know. Your help would be appreciated.

.

  • Hi Victor,

The motion and presence detection demo and mmwave demos of SDK provides the ability to do the measurement and compensation for range bias and receive channel gain and phase imperfections. The imperfections in antenna layouts on the board can be compensated for bias in the range estimation and the receive channel gain and phase imperfections by the following calibration. The measurement procedure steps, and implementation are also mentioned in the same link. Please find the below SDK path link for Rx Channel Gain/Offset Measurement and Compensation.

  • Thanks Voona!

Seems our device has compensation feature inside. I didn't know that.
