AWR2243BOOST: About RX Beamforming Setting in Mmwave Studio

Hello E2E Experts,

Good day.

I want to use AWR2243BOOST with DCA1000EVM to test RXs beamforming via mmwave studio. However, I don't know how to set parameters.

For example, the layout is shown in attached image.

When I test, I use 3 TXs 4 RXs MIMO via TDM method. I don't know whether use “Digital compensation EST control Config” , "Ph shift comp(Deg)" can get beam forming via different RXs. And I don't know how to set different parameters for upper layout. (Next picture just a example, durning my test I set all parameters in red box to “30” (Deg).)

Hi,

There is no Phase Shift control at the Receiver side. Only Tx Phase shift can be configured.

Hi,

As mentioned in my previous reply and the links that I have shared, we can configure the Tx phase shifters only. In Tx beamforming, each Tx is configured with some phase shift, such that the beam is focused in a particular direction. Rx beamforming is mainly about the processing of the received signals.

This is used to update Inter Rx Gain/Phase offsets for Inter-Rx mismatch compensation. This is not for configuring the Rx Phase shift.

Rx Beamforming is implemented in the Software. Azimuth FFT is a kind of Rx beamforming technique that we implement in our applications. You can refer to AM273x+AWR2243 SDK demo for the processing chain (where we perform Azimuth FFT) - C:\ti\mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_04_06_01_02\mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_04_06_01_02\ti\demo\am273x\mmw.
